Project Producer: Theatre

LOCATION

Prescot, Knowsley

SALARY

£23k per annum

CONTRACT

Freelance, full time, 18 month fixed term contract starting Summer 2021.

WORKING HOURS

35 hours gross (5 days) per week

CLOSING DATE

Monday, 7 June 2021, midday.

Shakespeare North Playhouse, which is currently being built in Prescot, is due to open to the public in Summer 2022. We are looking for an innovative freelance Producer who will work across a range of culture and learning productions and projects that celebrate the first six months of the opening of the theatre. This is a creative and administrative support role suitable for someone who wants to build their experience in producing theatre, festivals and social engagement projects.

The Project Producer will work closely with the Creative Director, Laura Collier, who oversees the Culture and Learning programme at Shakespeare North Playhouse.

We are looking for somebody who can, in particular, support the programming in the Studio and Performance Garden, as well as offer a hands-on approach to delivering a range of the opening events.

We particularly welcome applications from people whose backgrounds and experience are under-represented in the cultural sector, including Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic and Deaf and Disabled candidates.

YOU WILL HAVE OR WILL BE:

At least 2 years producing experience in the performing arts with a demonstrable track record of successful project delivery.

An understanding of the theatre ecology and potential culture and learning programme partners.

Experience of delivering performances and creative projects, managing budgets and working with artists and theatre makers.

A commitment to diversity and inclusion.

IF SUCCESFUL YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Working across a range of culture and learning productions and projects that celebrate the first six months of the opening of The Shakespeare North Playhouse.

Support the theatre programming, build relationships with artists, visiting companies and partners.

Acting as a first point of contact to artists enquiries to SNP and a key point of internal contact for specific productions.

Providing administrative support in the form of scheduling and organising events and productions.
