Head of Technical and Facilities

The Shakespeare North Playhouse, which is currently being built in Prescot, is due to open to the public in Summer 2022. We are seeking a Head of Technical and Facilities who will have significant experience of the management and maintenance of a building.

This is a unique opportunity to open The Shakespeare North Playhouse and to create a new technical team, ensuring that cohesive, efficient, cost effective and robust technical systems, staffing and operations are in place at the venue and that appropriate maintenance and testing is carried out. This is a fixed term role for 20 months.

The Director of Technical and Facilities will report to, and work closely with, the Creative Director, who oversees the Culture and Learning programme at The Shakespeare North Playhouse.

The contracted hours of work are 40 per week but the jobholder will be expected to exercise flexibility based on the needs of the theatre.

The salary for this role is circa £40,000 and will be based on relevant skills and experience.
