Completing the Shakespearean triangle: London – Stratford-Upon-Avon – Prescot

The Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot will be a unique visitor attraction, education facility and arts venue presenting some of the greatest entertainments from across the UK and the world.

Building on historical links with William Shakespeare, the Playhouse will appeal to a global audience as well as being an important asset to the local community. This iconic venue will sit at the centre of the ambitious transformation plans for the area and will be a beacon of culture and education for the whole of the North of England.

The Shakespeare North Playhouse vision has been applauded by universities throughout the UK and endorsed by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The project also boasts an impressive list of supporters from the world of arts and culture, including famous faces like Dame Judi Dench and screen writer Frank Cottrell-Boyce.

Much of the essential funding required for the building itself has been secured from central government, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Knowsley Council.

Further investment has come from the Ken Dodd Charitable Foundation Trust, The Foyle Foundation and the Garfield Weston Foundation.

The building is now coming out of the ground and becoming a reality. This is your opportunity to contribute and be part of something really special.

You can pledge your support to this amazing project and join us on the journey to the first performance in 2022.

If you would like to find out about further sponsorship or funding opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

Please email Kath Russell on who will be in touch to discuss this with you.
